Working together for affordable housing

December 2025

In the greater Zurich area, affordable housing is becoming increasingly challenging – especially for people on low incomes. The Domicil foundation has been committed to ensuring that people from all walks of life have a chance of finding a home for over 30 years. For the third year in a row, we are supporting this non-profit foundation with a generous donation, thereby strengthening our long-standing partnership.

For over 30 years, Domicil has been connecting people in difficult life situations with the housing market. This non-profit foundation helps people who would otherwise have little chance of finding a home to access housing and is jointly liable for the tenancy agreements. This provides security for everyone involved. At the same time, Domicil offers personal support to tenants and helps them settle into their apartment and the surrounding area following a successful negotiation – with the aim of enabling tenants to manage their tenancy agreement independently and sustainably.

«Our work is only possible thanks to the support of various stakeholders. It's key to enabling people in difficult and precarious housing situations to access affordable housing. With this in mind, we'd like to thank Livit AG for its long-standing, trusting cooperation and generous support.»

Karin Beutler
Executive Director Domicil foundation

Our collaboration with Domicil has already enabled 145 successful tenancies – a joint contribution to social sustainability. We actively support landlords in meeting current requirements, by means of regular tenant surveys and other measures that are also relevant in global sustainability ratings, for example.

A cause close to our hearts

The demand for affordable housing is increasing, while the supply is becoming scarcer. We are giving people a chance and at the same time providing security for everyone involved.

We are pleased to be able to not only facilitate access to housing with the Domicil foundation, but also to enable numerous tenants to take the step towards independence – for a future in which housing remains affordable for everyone.
