Small animals like hamsters can be kept without prior permission, provided the number of animals is not excessive. If you would like to keep any other pets (cats, rabbits, dogs, fish, parrots, reptiles, etc.), you will first have to obtain permission. Please contact your Livit advisor to discuss this. The easiest way of doing this is to send us your enquiry using the contact form or by emailing service@livit.ch

If you have already paid a deposit, you will be able to arrange this with your contact in the property management team and, where applicable, the previous tenant. To organise this, please contact us using the contact form or by emailing service@livit.ch, stating your future address.

PS: Many properties come with detailed floor plans, which we will be happy to pass on to you.

You will need to obtain permission to fit any of these kinds of appliances. To do so, please get in touch with the relevant contact person for your property. The easiest way of doing this is to send us your enquiry using the contact form or by emailing service@livit.ch.

Your bank details are shown on the last page of your ancillary cost statement. Please check them and notify us of any changes using the contact form or by emailing service@livit.ch.

If you have taken out your own TV/Internet contract with a (local) provider, you need to contact Livit Ltd. and ask to cancel your cable TV connection fees and to have the connection sealed off. If you do not specifically ask to cancel this service and if the cable connection is not sealed off, you will be charged a basic connection fee that will be included in your ancillary costs.

Please note that, when you move out, you will be liable for the costs of removing the seal from the cable TV connection again, which will be necessary in order to allow the next tenant to use it.
Would you like your cable TV connection to be sealed off? Please write to us using the contact form or by emailing service@livit.ch.

Changes to a rented property, such as removing a wall or installing a washing machine or dishwasher, as well as painting the walls, can only be made subject to prior approval. Please contact your Livit advisor to discuss these things. The easiest way of doing this is to send us your enquiry using the contact form or by emailing service@livit.ch.

If your ancillary cost statement shows that you are in credit, the credit amount will be paid out within 14 days of the expiry of the 30-day appeal period. If the account details shown on your ancillary cost statement (bottom of last page) are no longer current, please send us your new account details using the contact form or by emailing service@livit.ch.

Under tenancy law, tenants are required to repair minor defects themselves if performing the repair or replacing the item does not require any special equipment or expertise. These minor repairs include, for example:

  • Replacing kitchen and bathroom accessories (e.g. baking trays, refrigerator accessories such as egg trays, kitchen extractor fan filters, toothbrush holders, shower curtain rails, toilet seats and lids etc.) – please ask your Livit advisor for the makes and item numbers
  • Unblocking drains, if possible with simple actions
  • Tightening loose screws on sockets
  • Replacing light bulbs (bathroom, kitchen)
  • Cleaning window shutters and the balcony or patio, provided this is not dangerous if there is no railing
  • Greasing hinges

In the event of more serious damage, please contact us using the contact form or by emailing service@livit.ch. Please note the corresponding provisions in your rental agreement.
